November 2009- PORTSMOUTH AND HAMPSHIRE ART SOCIETY
The Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society asked if I would give a demonstration at one of their meetings, I gladly accepted but having never given a demonstration I was rather nervous to say the least. Luckily I had good sound advise from my husband who is used to speaking in public and also my friend Nicky, who having attended several demonstrations in the past was able to give me invaluable advise on what questions are often asked and what she found to be a good demo etc etc.
Having gathered all my art materials and props I made my way to St Lukes Hall, my Mother came along for moral support and helped set up. To cut a long story short, I very nearly had an asthma attack due to my nerves but once I got going it felt as through someone else had taken over and the 2 hours flew by. I thoughly enjoyed myself and I gather from the kind words after that those who came also had a good night. I may have had a 'Delia' effect on mini rollers which is good news for B&Q and I came home on a high.
I have been asked to do some workshops in 2010 along with other artists, working with a mixed age group from kids to grannies, which will be extreamly rewarding all round, fingers crossed.
We are busy in the process of booking exhibition spaces and working with Southsea Art & Design to book spaces for the group.
watch this spaces for dates
kind regards
